Is sodium-ion competitive with LFP for grid storage?

Cost per kWh, cycle life, round-trip efficiency and cold-weather performance, from tests and deployments. Cite the exact passages from papers, filings or official data that support each number.

A starting anchor from the stored corpus, then what is missing for a real answer.
1. The LFP side of the comparison has a solid stored number: BloombergNEF reports lithium-ion prices fell 8% in 2025 to an average of $108/kWh (URL:9e7bf7442eb5f889dc92bf09, fulltext, 502-531). That is a price survey, not a cost decomposition, so treat it as a market-price anchor, not a manufacturing cost floor.
2. On sodium-ion specifically, the stored corpus is thin: I have not located a stored passage giving sodium-ion cell cost per kWh, cycle life, round-trip efficiency, or cold-temperature capacity retention. Without located passages I won’t quote numbers for this question, per its own terms.
3. What would answer it: (a) sodium-ion cell price survey data (BNEF or a named survey) for 2025-2026; (b) a test report or peer-reviewed study with cycle-life and RTE figures at a stated DOD/temperature; (c) cold-weather data (capacity retention at -20C) from a named deployment or test. Any of these, cited as exact passages, plus a stated limit (price vs cost, lab vs deployed), would let this question be closed.
Limits: point 1 is lithium-ion average pricing across chemistries, so it slightly overstates what it tells us about LFP specifically.
